Adeline Vincent from Miami will be sharing her personal experience as Black domestic workers during an unprecedented pandemic and amid a national uprising where thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand the defunding of police departments.

“Black domestic workers are facing a pandemic within a larger pandemic,” said National Domestic Workers Alliance Black organizing director Aimée-Josiane Twagirumukizam. “Black domestic workers have stretched their dollars to keep the lights on after losing jobs and income. Some of them have been sick or experienced loss in their families. All of them have experienced these challenges while also facing the impact of police violence on their community. We must recognize the reality of this moment for Black women and their families and ensure that they receive the relief they deserve, while also ending police violence by defunding police departments.”
